Murder in the Air

After the roaring success of 'The Old Geyser' in 1998, CURTAINS! decided to stretch its thespian wings slightly more by embarking on a longer piece and trying our hand at comedy rather than farce. So, in April 1999 we presented the one act comedy 'Parlour Game' by Philip Johnson* as part of an evening of Christchurch entertainment raising money for the Christchurch Development Fund and for the Letchworth Central Refurbishment Project.

The two performances raised a grand total of over £1200. At Christchurch, the ticket sales accounted for £436 and £247 was collected for Kosovo refugees from the retiring collection. At Letchworth, £350 was raised from tickets and over £200 for Kosovo. A big THANK YOU to everyone who contributed.

Set in the Mayor's parlour, 'Parlour Game' shows just what can go wrong at a town hall bazaar and sets interesting individuals on inevitable collision courses.
